Pretty much sums up my mood at the moment. If you know me, I tend to be a bit reclusive when it comes to divulging any sort of details regarding women or dates and such matters. But what happened today...I must get some opinions on this, because I just don't know...

Last saturday, I asked a chick out, and she said yes. Awesome. We exchanged numbers so we could make plans to go out. At the time, it was going to be sunday morning. I woke up to my cel phone going bada-bing! That means I got a text. However, I stopped keeping a text balance, because it got to be too expensive. I forgot to tell her, but I was pretty much 100% sure it was her texting me, so I called her.

No answer, which was odd in itself, but I got the voice mail.

So I left a typical message, 'sorry I missed you blahblahblah call me back when you get the chance.' We talked later that night at work about doing something on tuesday, but she mentioned she might (grrr...) have something going on. Ok, no big deal. So I call monday to see if she found out anything about tuesday. She wasn't working that night, so I called on break.

Again, no answer, so I leave another message. If anything, I really hate leaving voice mails. I'd rather just talk, or better yet, GO ON THE DAMNED DATE! Anyway...

Here comes tuesday! I figure, I've pestered her voice mail enough already, and I'm just going to leave the ball in her court (which may have been a mistake on my part...). I basically went by: If I don't get a call by 4, she's likely doing something or at work.

No call...likely doing something or at work...le sigh...

So I essentially spent tuesday cleaning and briefly shopping at Wal-Mart. While I was there, I bought a card for my phone so I could have texts. If she won't respond to my voice mails, I'll just cave and send a fucking text.

And at last, today...

She didn't work today, so when I went on break, I sent her a text:

Me - You're a tough girl to get a hold of, you know that?

Her - Who is this?

Me - Brennan

Her - O yea

...oh yeah? OH YEAH?! WTF?! Since she sent me a text sunday morning, I should be in her contact list, right? Her phone should tell her something along the lines of:

1 new text from Brennan

Whatever...but that's not the part that really pissed me off. Oh no, the best part is just around the corner.

Me - Ouch baby...ouch

Her - ?

Me - I'm just being silly. If I'm pestering you, I'll leave you alone.


...what you are about to read next is the doomsday text that basically ruined my ENTIRE week. I was having a damned good week too. I was brimming, BRIMMING with confidence. And now that has been shattered, and replaced with an unending pit of emotional turmoil.


Her - Ye. I'm bout to go on a date. Srry


One can easily guess how I handled this. Without even thinking, I tossed my phone across the table. I was pissed, infuriated, insulted, and in an overall bad mood for the rest of the night after I got that text.

I really don't know how to react to this, but I can't say that I'm at all surprised. I should be used to this sort of treatment by now.

"I'm about to go on a date."

What the hell?! I've been trying to get a hold of her for days so we can go out, and this is what I get? I had to go to the freezer and calm myself down at one point because I thought I was going to lose it and start cussing at everyone.

What I am trying to understand is this:

I asked her out, she said yes. We traded numbers. That, to me, means that she has some desire to out with me, and see where things take us. That being the case, why in the holy mother of fuck is she going out with someone else?!

I'd like to think I'm a decent guy. I don't know what it is about me and women. Perhaps I am attracted to or attracting the wrong ones? Most relationships I'm in don't last more then a few weeks, mostly because I'm either the friend with benefits or the guy they're cheating with (which sort of go hand-in-hand with each other). And the one that I was in for a good long while ended up falling apart because I got too damned emotional. I deserve better then "I'm about to go on a date." That's fucking bull shit.

I need some insight on this one, because I just don't know how I should deal with this...Am I making too much of this? Should I be angrier? Should I calm down? Should I confront the little miss? I'm afraid if I do ask her about anything, things might not go so well...

My patience with women is on the brink of collapsing, and I'm thinking I'll just be a bachelor for the rest of my life. I was going to kick back and watch some porn, but I'm too damned pissed.
